about imagewerks A lot of thought went into the development of the Imagewerks logo. The overall intention was to create something that depicts the creative process and that is client-focused. The Pattern: Dots were chosen as a symbol of the design process — the circular system between the designer and the client. The unfolding or evolution of an idea into a visual format is depicted by the change in intensity of the dot pattern. The curve in the pattern, the bending, moving, expanding and reflecting represents the ever-changing ebb and flow and flexibility required by both the designer and the client in order to achieve maximum results during the creative process. Enclosing the pattern in a square represents the part the design process that entails working "inside the box" or within certain parameters or constraints. As a whole, the logo represents all the aspects involved in the design process in order to arrive at a new creation or “the next level” — or transformation which is Imagewerks’ specialty. The Color: Plum, a member of the purple family, became the color of choice for a variety of reasons: The color is typically used to depict elegance, sophistication and mystery. Because purples are derived from mixing a strong warm and strong cool color it has both warm and cool properties — a wonderful symbol of balance. Purple is said to increase a child’s imagination and creativity. The wild plum, whose branches flower during winter, represents longevity. Purple was also the favorite color of Egypt's Cleopatra. It has been traditionally associated with royalty in many cultures as purple robes have been worn by people of authority or high rank. The Purple Heart is a U.S. Military decoration given to soldiers wounded in battle. |
